Coach Reggie and I are excited to announce that Delaney Willette made school history at the Rockdale Bulldog Invite on Saturday, December 3!!

She qualified for state in the 100 Breast, giving her ALL eight INDIVIDUAL STATE QUALIFYING TIMES!  And we are only 1/3 through the season!  For those not in the swimming community, they have no idea what a difficult and amazing accomplishment this is!  There has been no swimmer in HHS school history, male or female, that has done this.  She actually made history last year qualifying in seven out of eight, but she wanted all eight and was determined to accomplish that as quickly as possible this season, and did it in only four meets!!

As an additional point, we are fairly confident that this has never been accomplished in the history of high school swimming in all Rockdale and Newton County schools (dating back to about 1998-99).  We have to complete research on a male and female swimmer at Salem from many years ago in order to be able to definitively make that announcement.

At this point in the season, Delaney is the only state qualified swimmer in all of Rockdale and Newton county.  Currently, no relays from any school have qualified - - though I'm confident they will.  Last year, Delaney was the only individually qualified swimmer in all of Rockdale and Newton.  Just to drive home the point that it is very difficult to swim one state qualifying time, much less eight!!  Proud parent!  Can't help it!  :)

As a team - - it was also a good night at the Rockdale Bulldogs Invite! We had MANY swimmers with first place finishes in individual events and relays, with Delaney, Joanna Bowers and Abby Kersh winning both of their individual events!

Boys team WON!! Girls team came in 3rd! BUT, combined we WON!!

Coach Reggie is doing great things with the kids this season!!
